Samsung T7 Shield External SSD Reviews
Flawless
I've had one of these for over a year and just bought another one a week before I saw the B&H offer so I had absolutely no hesitation in taking advantage and buying another 4 of them. The casing feels solid and sturdy wrapped in rubber so they give me confidence that they will withstand an accidental drop. There is virtually no heat when the drive is in use for long periods (i.e. 12 hours or more) unlike the Sandisk Extreme drives which I also own and have since retired and use as storage for my photo archives. I use these for backing up my iMac, storing tens of thousands of photos and working off as I also store my Lightroom catalogs on them. These are an excellent buy and I haven't had a single problem using them on my iMac and Macbook Air. Highly recommended.
Nice looking storage device
Just got this today! Transferred 283.05GB off my laptop in 4min&45sec. Love the feel of the T7 Shield, it has a very slight rubbery feel. Smaller in size than expected.
So easy for a non-techie to use!
I've been converting some old family video cassettes to DVDs and storing backup copies on my MacBook Air laptop. Now that my storage is too big for my old backup disk, I purchased the Samsung 2 TB T7 SSD drive on the recommendation of Wirecutter. I plugged it into my laptop, opened Time Machine, and I was asked if I wanted to erase it, since it was incompatible with my system. I said yes, then it automatically went into backup. Couldn't have been easier! And it readily appeared in both my Finder AND as an icon on my desktop, so it was easy to correctly close it -- something attached drives don't always do. So color me very happy with this purchase and so relieved to have safe backup at a reasonable price. B&H rocks!
Exceptional external SSD
I bought one of these when I got my new laptop in February. Galaxy Book 3 360. Amazing laptop and I got this on the cheap as an add on. I have not been disappointed. Nice rugged external SSD with extremely fast data transfer. Weighs almost nothing. Holds all the data I've accumulated over the years with room to spare. You can format it to be an OS installation drive, which I had to do to help a friend in a pinch, but that's a waste of it's space and capabilities. Great air gapped backup drive. When one of my sons ran out of space on his laptop, I got him one of these to migrate his files to. Problem solved. He'll probably get another one as a backup. Can't say enough about it, it's a great piece of gear to have in your laptop bag.
Great and compact SSD
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this SSD in May and been using this since then. The Copy speed is very good and even the same behaviour when connected to Android (Samsung S21 FE) mobile. The read and write speed very good and quick. I am able to copy 1 GB of data in 10 - 15 seconds.
Best Portable SSD EVER
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After running out of room on my old 500gb portable Hard Drive I bought the 1tb T7 shield and am completely happy, the price was great and the SSD is fantastic. I definitely recommend the T7 Shield
Easy to use.
Compact and foolproof. That's about it.
Dependable and portable
Excellent drive. I use this for footage transfers on video shoots and for sending large files to clients. Highly recommended.
