Samsung T7 Shield External SSD Reviews
The Best One Yet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung has another winner with this t7 shield. I don't know what more I could ask for. It's got a huge capacity in a small rugged form factor. I was able to back up my whole computer in a matter of minutes instead of hours. This drive is so much faster than my other drives. Love the fact that there are no moving parts and its the great Samsung quality i can trust with my important data. I love that they include both a USB-C cable and a legacy USB cable so it will work with any computer. I would definitely recommend this one.
Excellent portable SSD!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm one of those people that takes millions of photos with my phone, and never does anything with them. This wasn't an issue in the past when I was able to just swap out Micro SD cards when changing phones. Now the newest devices don't have expandable storage and that is why I was really excited to check out this new Samsung External SSD. Now I'm able to transfer my high resolution images from my device straight to the drive to backup and clear out space. I'm also able to use the USB-C cable to transfer to my PC if I'm wanting to edit them further. I do like to back them up to my google photos, but storage is no longer free and this is a great alternative IMO. I wanted something to hold onto and put in a safe to know my photos or documents are ok and backed up offline. It wasn't difficult to use and I really love this thing. I plug it into my PC or laptop and it gets instantly recognized. The form factor is spot on and not obstructively bulky. The case doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. The transfer speeds feel extremely fast with USB-C and standard USB cables included in the box. I'm very happy with this hard drive and highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a great portable SSD drive!
Great Little Device
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First Impression: Amazingly small and lightweight. First Use: I wanted this primarily for my phone as even with my sd card I was running out of space for photos and videos. This would be perfect to move anything that I didn't need on my phone for everyday use. It took me a little while to figure out how to get it synced up with my phone. I needed to download and app and watch a few videos to figure it out but once I got it, it was very simple to use. Files moved over very quickly. I also attached it to my laptop and it was very easy to use there as well. This is a great little device for the price and when you want something that you can realistically carry around with you or hold onto files that you won't necessarily need everyday.
Buy it!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Exactly what I was looking for. Needed a large portable HD that I can plug into my tablet to transfer files and then easily plug it into a media player. This does that and then some. Transfer speeds are absolutely INSANE! Transferred 3-4gb media file in less then a minute. So much faster than micro as speeds I’m accustomed to. Not sure why they don’t make all Portable hard drives like this. It has a IP rating (it can’t be submerged under water buts it’s splash resistant and dust proof). Rubberized padding makes this item drop proof as well. I love the design. It’s rugged and durable and I like I don’t have to worry about it breaking or getting scratched. Ready out the box. It comes with duel type C cable and a type C to USB. Everything I need to transfer any file I want. I couldn’t be happier with this item It also works with Mac and Windows. I just use it with my Samsung tablet with Android Os . Also plug it into my Media player and stream movies off it. It works flawlessly.
Samsung's Super-Sonic-Drive!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would like to introduce all of you to my brand new Samsung Portable SSD(Solid State Drive) T7 Shield USB 3.2 1TB Hard Drive. With an lP65 rating for dust & water resistance, you can take this drive anywhere you go. You can transfer massive amounts of files in seconds at read/write speeds up to 1,050/1,000 MP/s, while being confident that any heat issues are being handled via the rubber exterior with Dynamic Thermal Guard. The unit also has up to A 9.8ft. drop resistance. In two different attractive colors blue and black, these drives are compatible with your favorite pc, mac and android devices as well as popular gaming consoles. Take these drives anywhere you go and look great while doing it! I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks for reading my review.
FAST!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tough, fast, and good looking. Packs a lot of bang in a small package. Fist thing is that you will transfer files fast. I moved some large files including hundreds of pictures in just seconds! In the end that is what the T7 does. It makes large amounts of data available fast. I love the multiple USB connection options. Fast is always good. I like that it is smaller than the memory device I was using, and the blue looks great. No lags, just fast access!!!
Rugged & reliable from a trusted company
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will just right into my review of the Samsung T7 Shield 1TB portable SSD drive. It's a very simple product out of the box consisting of the drive and 2 cables, one to connect to a USB-A device (computer) and one to a USB-C device (phone). I tested on 2 computers (desktop and laptop) and on a Samsung S22 Ultra phone. First to the desktop. On the T7 was a Windows .exe file for setup which was quick. I tested transfers with a 3.4GB file using USB-A on the computer as it doesn't have a USB-C port.. First I copied the file to a non SSD backup drive and it took 1:18:75. Then I backed up the file to another SSD portable drive which took 0:11:65. Finally I tested copying it twice to the T&. First try 0:23:16 and second try 0:18:01. One thing I noticed with the T7 was some incremental pauses I did not see on the other SSD drive. I went to the laptop and did not have the same file, so I used a larger file, a 5.4GB file. I also used the USB-C connection which the laptop had. It took 0:15:50 to copy. Doing the math, the equivalent 3.4GB transferred at 0:09:76 which is pretty fast. I then moved on to a Samsung S22 Ultra using the USB-C cable. Samsung as a Portable SSD app for the phone. Here's where I ran into a snag. With the file explorer on the phone I could see the drive, but the app would not recognize the drive. The app was updated, so I honestly don't know the issue there. I copied a 3.9GB file from the phone to the T7 which took 0:12:48. For 3.4GB it comes out to around 0:10:90. The drive out of the box is reliable, but being new I cannot speak to it's longevity. It is a bit larger than other portable SSD drives, and was a bit slower than the other one I used. On it's own I still feel the speed is fine, and the T7 easily bounces from computer to phone. I would recommend this product.
Rugged, Fast and Spacious SSD
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung T7 Shield 1TB External USB 3.2 Gen 2 is a fast solid state storage device. Ruggedly encapsulated in a rubberized enclosure, this drive is easy to hold on to and is perfect for on-the-go use. To start, the drive is packaged well in a small, unassuming box. It includes 2 different USB cables which I'm fully appreciative of (one type-c to type-c, and one type-a to type-c) glad that Samsung didn't assume one particular interface over another. This packaging, like so many others recently, appears to be made of thin cardboard and fully recyclable without having to be creative with removing plastic or clamshells or anything. This solid state drive is compatible with Mac, PC, Android devices, even gaming consoles. I tested it on my Windows 10 and it was instantly recognized & ready for plug and play action. Most impressive to me was how I can edit 4K video on the fly with this drive, thanks to the ridiculously fast speed. I love this solid state mega drive. It's small in size, about the size of a deck of cards, but not quite as thick. The drive is covered in a rubberized exterior which is nice to the touch, although it might picks up dust which for anyone with a computer, can be a little bit of a concern as the drive will likely sit near a dusty area. The rubberized exterior also makes it difficult to brush off that dust, but honestly it does give it a nice luxurious feel. The drive itself is also heavier than expected, though not excessively so. Its also got a small form factor as compared to my Segate 1TB external SSD drive. All in all, this is a well made, solid performing external SSD. I heartily recommend it.
