HoldFast Gear Money Maker Overview

From Manufacturer

The medium MoneyMaker 2-Camera Harness with D-Rings in Bridle black from HoldFast Gear is made from U.S. native steer hides, with safety straps for ultimate security. The versatile design makes this an essential tool for the modern photographer.

Secure your cameras and important gear where it's most accessible and comfortable; right on you. The bottom side of the strap has a suede-like feel, and will shed a little at first use. This stops very quickly, and running your hand down the length of the strap will knock away loose shavings. The bottom side is also colorless as to not bleed onto your clothing.

HoldFast Gear uses real full grain leathers and each strap will display the unique life that the animal lived. You may see scars from brands, barbed-wire cuts, stretch marks, insect bites, marks from birthing, and natural creases in the surface of your strap.

Size/Fit Guide
The MoneyMaker is 1.5" wide.

Fit is based on height and broadness. The ideal carrying position of the MoneyMaker is for the strap to fall about 4-5" below your armpit so the cameras stay high on your body.

Small: Height of 5'7" and below (if you are broad/built size up)

Medium: Height between 5'8"-6'2"  (if you are slender size down, broad or built size up)

Large: Height of 6'3" and above OR wear extra-large clothing (if you are slender size down)

Optimum fit will ensure the most comfort long term. If the MoneyMaker is worn too loose it causes the cameras to swing and sway too much, which puts pressure on your lower back and causes the straps to move and slip more. When worn properly, the MoneyMaker will be anchored to your body and help correct poor shooting posture by pulling your shoulders upright and back, keeping you and your cameras in line. When the main straps are around 4" below the arm pit area, this will typically place the clip that attaches to the camera right around your waistline. There should be a good amount of arm bend when your hand is on the camera at resting position.

Awkward

I Received The Harness The Morning Before An Evening Photo Gig And Tried It On. It Is... Difficult To Properly Size. The Videos Online Weren't Particularly Helpful Instruction And I Couldn't Adjust It To A Comfortable And Practical Fit. In The End, I Wore The Harness To The Gig And Removed It After The First Half-hour. The Adjustment Clasps, When You Wear The Harness, Lay On Your Back And Are Nearly Impossible To Reach And Tighten/loosen For A Good Fit. I Gave Up And Very Well Might Try To Return It.

A professional look

I think if you shoot weddings or events this must have. It immediately makes you look professional, and it is nice to have two different lenses at arm's reach. Adjusting the straps can be slightly confusing, but I will admit to being a bit dumb. Well made, leather. Hooks feel sturdy.

Could this hold a Sony A9 with the new 200-600 lens?
Asked by: Ned
This harness can accommodate a A9 with a Sony FE 200-600mm lens attached using the tripod collar of the lens. However, we recommend supporting the lens by hand whenever possible due to the length of the barrel.
