How does this work? Does it unscrew from the bottom like a traditional head? How easy is it to swap on and off of a jib/other?

Yes, The Sachtler Aktiv Bowl for 75mm Tripod (V2) is the correct tie down for the Aktiv8 heads. Also make sure you also have the 75mm adapter from Dana Dolly BH #DAKTIV75A
