Samsonite Freeform Reviews
Functional but easily scratched/scuffed/shredded!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a new large suitcase and settled on the large freeform spinner in white & gray. The functionality and packing space were exactly what I needed. It rolls nicely and it looks really nice, when it's new. What I wasn't expecting was how horrible of a condition it would be in after just 1 flight, especially when it's marketed to be SUPER resilient and resistant to damage. There are dozens of deep scuff marks and even a few areas where the case has shredded material hanging off it. I've attached several photos to show you what it looks like after doing my best to clean it up. So sad. The piece was brand new and this is how the outside is after 1 flight from NYC to Paris. I'm so disappointed, and it's actually a little embarrassing because the suitcase is made to stand out with the bright white on light grey, with the bright green accents. Such a pretty suitcase, until you use it. I flew American Airlines and they said they don't cover this because they consider it "normal wear and tear" and "customers assume the risk". I will continue using this suitcase, but only for private excursions where I can keep it hidden. I definitely will not be able to use it for overseas travel or when I need to look my best if appearances are important like a business venture or another stylish trip to Europe.
Terrible Quality - Broken Wheels
Absolute garbage. Wheels break after single use and Samsonite’s planned obsolescence strategy makes it virtually impossible to replace the wheels, preventing repair and forcing customers to purchase new luggage.
