QNAP TS-233-US Reviews
Assembly is easy; Set-up not so much
Most important - after implementation, the NAS has performed brilliantly (for 2 weeks so far) and I'm very satisfied. This was not a kit so I had to install disks and configure the unit. I used the same type of disk that comes in kits and physical installation was a snap. As others have written, configuring requires a fair bit of knowledge. I was lacking but was able to figure it out over a couple of hours. I may not have the most optimal installation but it works great for me.
Great NAS
Bought this unit to migrate from an older QNAP TS-133 to the TS-233 to take advantage of the latest QNAP operating system. Removed the two 4TB WD drives from the TS-133 I had been using and inserted them into the the TS-233. The drives were immediately recognized with no formatting required and no data loss. The first backup ran according the previous backup schedule with no problems. Seamless transition (the way things are supposed to work). Very happy with this purchase.
