The speaker utilizes a 1200W Class-D amplifier to drive the 15" woofer and 1" high-frequency driver, which combine to offer a full-range frequency response (58 Hz to 16 kHz) with plenty of volume to cover an audience (135 dB SPL). - The advanced DSP technology driving LINEAR 3 has one main purpose: to make the job of musicians and DJs easier. LINEAR 3 gives you the ultimate sound in any situation and it’s simple to use.
- An intelligent multiband limiter and filtering of the frequency response in the ‘Contour’ setting ensure a consistently sweet and assertive sound, from super quiet to really loud.
- The multiband limiter monitors and controls the relevant frequency bands separately, only intervening when it is needed.
- As a result, LINEAR 3 guarantees an impressively effective sound experience, even for semi-professional musicians and DJs who are not dedicated PA specialists. This gives musicians on stage more room for musical creativity and a top performance.
DSP Filter Settings
Bass Boost/Flat (LF) switch
- This DSP-driven EQ optimizes the frequency response for the given application.
- Setting this switch to "Bass Boost" pumps up the bass. This boosts a broad band of bass frequencies in the range between 60 and 100 Hz and extends the low-end response.
- To use the speaker as a top unit combined with a subwoofer, set this switch to "Flat (LF)“. This ensures the frequency response remains linear all the way down to the cutoff frequency for optimum subwoofer coupling and a homogenous overall sound.
Flat (HMF)/Contour switch
- This DSP-driven EQ optimizes the frequency response for the given application.
- Setting this switch to "Flat (HMF)“ conjures the optimum linear frequency response for live performances and for operation in combination with subwoofers.
- Setting this switch to "Contour“ dampens a broad band of midrange frequencies centered at 3.5 kHz by as much as -6 dB. This takes the edge off the sonic image to prevent and mitigate early listening fatigue, particularly at short distances where audience members are close to the speaker. The overall volume is not affected.
HK Audi MultiGrip
The built-in HK Audio MultiGrips make handling the speakers a breeze and ensure even more safety in every situation. They also allow for professional flying hardware to be fitted. The TB-45N or TB-45NQ tilt brackets can be mounted directly to the MultiGrips on the LINEAR 3 115 FA, making them ideal for professional rigging or installation. The LINEAR 3 series have 4 x M8 mounting points and can be flown by mounting AP-8 attachment points.
DuoTilt 3/7° Pole Mount Flange
The DuoTilt stand mount helps to align the speaker towards the audience reliably so that it provides the best sound. The preset 3 and 7° tilt of the stand mount means you can choose the right alignment, regardless of the setup.
