I bought this to use with my Roland Switcher and with Vmix and I couldn't get it to work with either. The only way I was able to get it to work is with the light test function using the AVMatrix control software. If you're using it with a switcher, you're going to have to do some custom soldering and the cable they provide is comically short. You'll also need to buy a male end to solder the cable to if you're going the switcher route. When using it with VMix, you have to go through the control software provided by AVMatrix and then set it up in VMix but in VMix it kept saying connection error. Also, when you open the control software, it's all in Chinese, you have to switch it to English but when you do, some of it is still in Chinese, or if you click a tab to try and get the software to do something, it'll will revert back to Chinese but just for that tab and everything else will be in English which is very frustrating. I've bought AVMatrix convertors in the past and all have worked fine but this tally light system has been a headache since I took it out of the box, if I didn't throw away the original packaging I would have sent it back for something else or refund. Moral of the story keep all packaging until you're sure you can get it working.
