If you have multiple camera bodies and/or lenses with mounting points, you'll want extra plates. Sure, you could move the plate that comes with your tripod to various systems, but that will wear out threads over time. This mount is low profile and doesn't have sharp edges. It also has loops for lanyards. It works great with my Falcam Treeroot system. This plate comes at a reasonable price and fits snugly on heavy gear like the 1Dx and a 600mm lens.

This works on both systems. I love my Peak Design Capture shoulder quick release. But PD is far behind in other mounting systems or are too stubborn to make anything else. (I've written to them about this problem.) Falcam F38 has a Quick / Solid mount for a tripod. I finally can go from my shoulder mount to my Tripod in seconds with this new QR Plate. Both systems are completely different on how it locks on to the plate. With this plate, it works both systems.
