Ruggard EDC-LT Overview

From Manufacturer

Protect cameras, lenses, photographic and optical equipment, mobile electronics, and other valuables from excessive moisture, dirt, and dust with the EDC-50L-RM Electronic Dry Cabinet from Ruggard. The cabinet's fast-acting TE Cooling Wafer regulates the interior's relative humidity from 60-35% to help prevent fungus and corrosion that can damage delicate gear and other sensitive materials. Humidity adjustments take place over a 1- to 3-hour period.

The control panel has easy-to-use buttons for programming the desired relative humidity, plus a large LCD screen that allows the ambient temperature to be displayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The door has a keyed lock to keep its contents safe, secure, and prevent unauthorized access to your equipment. The lock comes with two keys.

The Electronic Dry Cabinet has no noisy fan or compressor, so it provides silent operation. It is also dripless, eliminating the need for a messy water tray that requires draining. The cabinet is powered by an included multi-voltage power supply.

Moisture and Dust Protection
The cabinet's cooling wafer wicks away moisture to protect lenses and other optical devices from damage caused by fungus and corrosion. Solid glass door construction and rubber seals further prevent dirt and dust from reaching items on the inside. The generous 180° door opening range provides full access to cabinet contents.
Analog LCD Control Panel
This cabinet has a classic analog control panel with easy-to-use buttons for programming the desired relative humidity. The large LCD screen allows the ambient temperature to be displayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. Note: This cabinet does not control internal temperature.
LED Lighting
Interior LED lighting illuminate cabinet contents. With the push of a button see what's inside before you even open the cabinet.
Non-Marring Feet
Four feet, two leveling, prevent unwanted movement on uneven surfaces.

desiccant, tipper ware containers, golden rod. It’s was all such pain. For decades I use these methods. Ruggert dry cabinets are a game changer. Magnetic close, custom humidity levels and the LED lights are nice touch. My 125L easily packs in 12 lens, GFX 100 S 2 body and all kind of accessories adapter etc. if you are on the fence buy it. B&H payboo card perks plus free shipping makes the deal really sweet.

I really like this

In MA, USA humidity is always high in the summer. I was running an AC in my office to keep the humidity down pretty much 24/7. I got the Dry cabinet and set it up and let it stabilize for 24 hours. In the 50L I was able to fit 2 canon camera bodies, a 100-500, 70-200 f4, along with a 100mm, 45mm, 24-105 f4,15-35 f4, and a 50 f1.8. I still have some room. But it cleans up my office and I can clear out all my bags so I do not have to search them for the lens I want for the next shoot. Be aware that the manual could be behind the locked door. I was easily able to guess the combo that is stated in the manual. The manual also lacked a few things like removing and putting the pull handle on the outside of the door. But it is nice and I would suggest getting one bigger than you think you need.

Is it large enough for 5-6 camera bodies and a dozen or so lenses of varying size?
Asked by: Robert
I currently have sixteen lenses and seven bodies in mine. These are five Micro Four Thirds cameras, one APS-C (Fujifilm), and one Nikon 1, so not gigantic cameras. On the other hand, two fairly big zooms and a Vivitar Solid Cat 600mm f/8.0 lens. I still have two pull out shelves and the bottom level of the unit unpopulated. So sure, it can hold a pretty good bit of stuff, depending on what you have for it. I have a bit of full frame stuff to add once I bring that to this location. That includes a Sigma 150-600mm Sports lens. Sure, if you have a whole mess of white lenses, you probably need something larger.. and you already know that and can afford it.

Asked by: Michael
The Ruggard EDC-80L-WO Electronic Dry Cabinet (Weathered Oak, 80L) does not have filters that need to be replaced; It uses electronic dehumidifiers that remove humidity by electricity.

What is the noise level like?
Asked by: Philipp
The Ruggard EDC-1280LT Electronic Dry Cabinet operates silently because it does not use a fan or a compressor for dehumidification. Instead, it utilizes solid-state Thermo-Electric (TE) Cooling Wafer technology, which has no moving parts to generate noise.
