Bowens BW-1885 overview

  • 1Description

This Bowens 6.0" Wide-Angle Umbrella Reflector, 120 Degrees provides a very wide light spread from the light source. This reflector is ideal for use with an umbrella mounted to the flash head. When the reflector is used by itself, the light output has hard shadows and high contrast.

    Bowens BW-1885 reviews

    6.0" Wide-Angle Umbrella Reflector, 120 Degrees is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective but not up to heavy use I've worked my way through about 6 of these. The plastic component that holds the umbrella is reveted to the reflector and come loose after moderate use. This plastic part has broken on a couple of mine as well. Maybe with a super small and light weight brolly you wouldn't have problems. Not much choice though. I don't know of any alternatives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice even spread of light. This reflector is awesome. I only use it with an umbrella but I'm sure there could be other uses for this thing. The inside is chrome so it is highly reflective. I'm considering buying a second one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 75% Perfect! Upon opening up the packaging, this is obviously a higher quality product. The feel and construction is top notch. My only reservation is with the welding from the umbrella connector to the reflector. So far, it hasn't broken, but it looks and feels a little soft.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware!! Not For Large Umbrellas When I first tried the reflectors I use a 45 inch umbrella and it held up great. But when I used an Impact 7ft parabolic it tore the adaptor right out from its studs. So I ordered a new one. I had recently purchased a Westcott 40 X 60 Halo. The first time I used it I had no problems . The second time it broke the adapter again. The design is very poor . Sadly I have to purchase another reflector. Bowers really need to redesign this part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OEM and fast delivery I needed two of these reflectors with umbrella mounts to go with two new Bowens monolights that did not include the reflectors. Third part reflectors do not have the brolly mounts, so getting the OEM versions were essential. These are Bowens OEM and they arrived before the monolights from Bowens. Fit perfectly and B&H's prompt order processing and delivery saved the day!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very well built, but a little pricey. I bought a Bowens monolight, and I've always been used to monolights coming with a reflector. So, I was a little put off by having to buy an extra reflector. This is obviously high-quality, though. The only downside was the price. When I'm used to getting these for free with other monolights, it seemed bit much to have to buy this for general use in our studio.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great reflector, but overpriced I use this if I need sharp light with pronounced shadows, or if I need to put an umbrella on my Bowens lights. It is a bit pricey, but there are no other options to attach an umbrella to Bowens lights. Otherwise, it is a great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple to the point This reflector is like the headline says , simple and to the point. It firmly holds the umbrella in place and is fully adjustable. The only drawback to them is they are made of aluminum and while light, are easily dented.
