It replaces the mic's existing foam windscreen and performs best when recording in light breezes (4 to 25 mph). This windbuster substantially reduces disruptive wind noise by up to 40 dB with only minimal high-frequency loss.

The simulated rabbit-fur outer layer works in tandem with the open-cell, foam-matrix interior to protect the microphone element from air bursts without muffling the sound. Plus, a rubber gasket enables a snug, airtight fit over your microphone to provide extra protection against wind noise. The windbuster also shields your VideoMic GO II from dust, moisture, and UV damage—all issues commonly encountered during outdoor shoots.

I’m impressed by the quality and compactness of this dead cat. I got on a sale for $10 which made it even a greater value in comparisson to the Rode one that goes for $30. Glad I found this one. Get it, you won’t regret it.
