K-Tek KSTMCS Overview

The K-Tek KSTMCS Stingray Series Microphone Case is designed to safely house two shotgun microphones for boom operators, audio assistants, videographers, and sound engineers in ENG, EFP, television and film production, interviews, and more. The interior dimensions of 6.75 x 2.4” provide ample space for microphones with a diameter up to 1.1”.

Its clamshell design incorporates a semirigid case to deliver protection against physical damage, while the formed internal divider and mesh sleeve keep the stored mics stationary. Columns of ribs on the case exterior increase its strength and offer an easy-to-grip surface, allowing one-handed carriage between locations and gigs.

The dual-zipper closure prevents accidental case opening, so you can transport it with confidence. Take advantage of the label area on the back of the case to remember what's inside without having to open it.

K-Tek Stingray products are top quality! I purchased this for a Schoeps MiniCMIT as the wooden case that comes with the CMIT isn't practical for everyday handling. Couldn't be happier with the quality and portability...

Prefect Case For Pencil Mics

I own the Samson C02 Pencil Condenser Microphones (Pair). They come in a rather nice hard case which is great for storage, but it's quite large and not so great for compact travel. I wanted something sturdy, but also as formfitting as possible. The K-Tek Stingray case was a little expensive, but well worth the purchase. It fits the two C02 mic perfectly. They are very snug and there's no room for anything else in the case, exactly what I was looking for. The case fits perfectly in the front pouch of my K-Tek Stingray MixPro Audio Bag which makes for a relatively compact sound recording travel setup. If you're looking for a slimline solution to protect a pair of pencil mics, this one comes recommended.

The Sennheiser MKH 8060 would not fit inside the K-Tek Stingray Microphone Case for Two Short Shotgun Mics (Small). The larger one is suggested.

You may be able to fit small mic clips in the pocket of the K-Tek Stingray Microphone Case for Two Short Shotgun Mics. The interior of the case is 6.75 x 2.4" and the diameter of a shotgun microphone is approximately 0.83 to 0.87" (21 to 22mm).
