The Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II is a manual zoom lens. Only lenses with powerzooms will work with the zoom rocker on the Sony FX3.

Excellent lens. However the hood does not fit over my Breakthrough Photography CPL. Any ideas?
I would suggest mounting the Sony ALC-SH168 Lens Hood on the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II Lens before mounting your filter. This should allow you to use your filter with the hood.

Does the GM II extend while zooming externally like the Mark I or is it an internal zoom like the 70-200 GM II?
From the Overview: Internal focusing design promotes snappier, more responsive focusing performance and also maintains the overall lens length during operation.
