DANGER BUDDIES CCC-3 Reviews
Finally! A REAL, harness-quality carabiner!
They never send enough of these things with the leather camera harnesses! If you are looking for replacement (or just to have a few extra), quality, 1/4-20 carabiners with "handle loops" large and sturdy enough to accommodate full-sized, professional snap-hook equipment like on your RL Handicrafts or Moneymaker leather harness rigs, look no further. These are the real deal. And although you usually get a couple of extras with a harness purchase, I can't seem to ever have enough of them, they have so many uses. I have been pinching the loop carabiners away from my harnesses for quite some time to use with my cages and tripods in order to attach my anti-drop (and anti-theft) safety cables. Because leather snap-hook safety tethers (those things that these 1/4-20 loop carabiners are usually found dangling off of when you purchase a leather camera harness) have been just as nearly impossible to find, I just use the impact, 18" safety cable (BH# IMSC1.518) for four bucks. Works fine! The "handle loop" on this loop carabiner is even large enough, when paired with the Impact safety cable, to accommodate a luggage lock for extra security on locations where such extra assurance is needed. As for myself, I always install 1/4-20 loop carabiners using LocTite (or similar brand) liquid thread locker on the 1/4-20 thread so the loop carabiner can't be, or become, unscrewed. So glad i found these, now i will finally have enough to accommodate all my uses for them! As for a polished, higher-end look, this carabiner would fit in with any professional leather rig.
