Denon PMA-1700NE Overview

AL32 Processing Plus
This processor uses algorithms to restore lost information in digital recordings and supports high-resolution 384 kHz/32-bit PCM audio sources.
USB DAC
The PMA-1700NE can also be used as a USB DAC, suppressing jitter for precise digital-to-analog conversion. The DAC supports high resolution audio up to 11.2 MHz DSD and 384 kHz/32-bit PCM input signals.
Smooth Controls
The front panel sports smooth electrical volume, balance, and tone controls for precision adjustment, while still maintaining an analog feel.

It is one of the best amp at this price point $1299. The build quality and sounding are excellent. It paired with my Denon DCD-1600NE. Thanks B&H.

Nice, but with some important limitations

I bought this unit from B&H to replace my older Denon AVR, and with the intention of supporting hifi and hi res audio from my MacBook Pro using a variety of music streaming services. It is a well built piece of gear, and it is more than capable of driving my Focal 826 floor speakers. As others have noted, the remote does not allow balance adjustment, which is somewhat limiting. A more important drawback is the fact that the built in DAC does not support full MQA decoding / unfolding. As a result, this equipment requires the use of another stand alone DAC or streamer in order take advantage of Tidal music, if that is what you might be using. I am adding a Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200m in order to continue using Tidal. The aded $600 component cost might have swayed me to another manufacturer with a more full-featured integrated amp if I had researched the available services and technology a little better beforehand.
