You get what you pay for and since this comes free with the body, then that's about what it's worth. Actually for a camera that costs several thousand dollars you'd THINK that Canon might include a professional quality hotshoe cover with purchase. These have a way of coming off and disappearing. Buy the locking ER-SC3 and use this to cover the hole in your beer can too keep the flies out when you head to the restroom.
