Sokani NP-M Reviews

Other uses than just an X60 light

Although this unit was made for Sokanoi lights, it is really a nice and useful accessory beyond the intended use. Although plastic, it is built fairly well. It takes those standard Sony NP batteries everyone seems to have/use. The batteries click into the power sled and are locked in well. The plus is that there is a battery level indicator on the unit. Most non-Sony batteries do not incorporate a built in battery level. The metal clip on the clamp is a standard v-mount, and on the back of the battery sled also features a standard v-mount. When I say other uses, I wanted a battery sled like this that I can separate from my light. I have Godox ml30bi instruments, and they are well thought out, but the battery sled is only attached to the carry handle of the light. This makes it convenient and portable. But many times I need a light Hollywooded out above the subject on run and gun shooting. I purchased an Impact quick-stick from B&H. It's a light extension pole, made for flash photography to get a flash positioned where you can use it best. The pole works great for small LED lights too! However i didn't want the weight of the Sony style batteries to be so heavy out over people on the end of the pole. With the Sokani Battery adapter, I could place the battery sled at the base of the pole I was holding. I bought the Godox D-Tap DC Male Extension cable, and ran power up to thlight head. In fact, the batteries down on the handle, help offset the weight of the light on the other end. It becomes a win-win situation, and allows me to quickly move about with the light extended above or to one side of the subject as we are shooting. There are several other manufactures of this kind of battery solution, but few are featured at this price point.

I do not find the output info of the max current and watts, neither the charging input volts and current. Does anybody know it?
