The Venus Optics LAOWA 24mm T14-40 Full Frame 2x PeriProbe Cine Lens captures sharp magnified shots with full frame camera sensors using their Leica L-mount and has a focal length of 24mm. Its periscope-style lens tube with interchangeable ends features an aperture range of T14 to T40 for a deep or shallow depth of field. Use it underwater or in tight spaces, thanks to its waterproof front barrel and slim profile.
More DetailsA lens construction of 28 elements in 19 groups creates a smooth, circular bokeh with minimal focus breathing. The lens can rotate 360° along the axis to unlock the orientation ring and create spinning shots. Both the focus and iris rings have 0.8 MOD cinema-standard gears for intuitive manual controls. A 1/4"-20 thread at the end of the 15.7" lens allows you to mount fill lights or other accessories. Built-in LEDs in the lens tips provide a ring-light effect to your shots.

Can the original probe lens be rotated as well? If I wanted to do a spinning/rotating shot with that as well.
The rotation of the Venus Optics LAOWA 24mm T14-40 Full Frame 2x PeriProbe Cine Lens refers to being able to rotate the lens barrel so the markings can be read. It does not rotate the image. To do that, you need to rotate the camera.

The Venus Optics LAOWA 24mm T14-40 Full Frame 2x PeriProbe Cine Lens (E Mount) (B&H# VE2414PFE) features the addition of a 90 degree angle adapter at the end of the barrel so that you can take videos and photos at an angle that is perpendicular to the lens. This is especially helpful when taking underwater photos from a camera just above the surface.

Is the tip of this lens waterproof? Can it be used inside of an aquarium or small body of water like a tide pool? If so, up to what point on the tube is is waterproof?
The Venus Optics LAOWA 24mm T14-40 Full Frame 2x PeriProbe Cine Lens (PL Mount) does have a waterproof front barrel, allowing users to underwater shots with out additional water proofing. You can only submerge the lens a few inches.

The Venus Optics LAOWA 24mm T14-40 Full Frame 2x PeriProbe Cine Lens (EF Mount) (B&H# VE2414PEF) includes both the periscope end and regular end of the lens. Pulling back or pushing forward on a lens collar allows them to be rotated.

Yes, For the lens that you linked you would need an Canon EF to Sony E-Mount adapter. However Venus Optics makes an E-mount model of this lens that would work without an adapter on the Sony A7RV.
