Haida PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter (67mm, 3 to 7-Stop)
Key Features
  • Variable 0.9 to 2.1 Optical Density
  • Multicoated Glass
  • Filter Ring Rotation Lever
The 67mm PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter from Haida is a variable neutral density filter that provides an exposure reduction of 3 to 7 stops. The 0.9 to 2.1 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time, you can create motion blur for special effects or to convey a sense of movement. Opening your iris allows you to create shallow depth of field, which can help isolate your subject. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is also visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values and includes a rotation lever to further enable fast, as well as precise positioning of the front ring.

The filter's frame is ultra-slim aluminum alloy ring ensures durability while allowing the filter to remain lightweight. The thin, aluminum-alloy filter ring minimizes the potential for vignetting, while remaining durable and lightweight.

This PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, the glass features eight layers of multi-coating. These coatings also offer greater protection to a filter substrate and help it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

The Little Lever Will Break Off

I wanted to like this filter but after just a few minutes trying to use it the little lever that adjusts the ND amount came loose. There is no way to tighten it up and I am sure it would break off with just a little use. I didn't even take a chance to test out its optical performance. I just put it back into the box and returned it.

Does it get stuck to the lens often?
Asked by: Sofia
Not the lens but I had an issue with it sticking to a B+W UV filter. Likely due to the B+W's brass threads expanding at different rates to the Haida's aluminum threads. Switching to an aluminum threaded UV filter solved this problem. In short, no flaws in any product, but consider this effect when pairing different metal types in threading for filters.

How thick is this filter? How much will it vignette on a Z 14-30mm lens?
Asked by: David
Haida does not list the frame thickness on the Haida PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter (82mm). But most filters like this are thicker and at the 14mm side of the zoom, chances are you will get some vignette.

Asked by: MCD
The Viltrox AF 56mm f/1.4 M Lens for Canon EF-M has 52mm filter threads, So you could use the Haida PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter (67mm) with the Sensei 52-67mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3LcEzcN.
