Haida PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter (82mm, 3 to 7-Stop)
Key Features
  • Variable 0.9 to 2.1 Optical Density
  • Multicoated Glass
  • Filter Ring Rotation Lever
The 82mm PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter from Haida is a variable neutral density filter that provides an exposure reduction of 3 to 7 stops. The 0.9 to 2.1 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time, you can create motion blur for special effects or to convey a sense of movement. Opening your iris allows you to create shallow depth of field, which can help isolate your subject. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is also visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values and includes a rotation lever to further enable fast, as well as precise positioning of the front ring.

Does it get stuck to the lens often?

Does it get stuck to the lens often?
Asked by: Sofia
Not the lens but I had an issue with it sticking to a B+W UV filter. Likely due to the B+W's brass threads expanding at different rates to the Haida's aluminum threads. Switching to an aluminum threaded UV filter solved this problem. In short, no flaws in any product, but consider this effect when pairing different metal types in threading for filters.

How thick is this filter? How much will it vignette on a Z 14-30mm lens?
Asked by: David
Haida does not list the frame thickness on the Haida PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter (82mm). But most filters like this are thicker and at the 14mm side of the zoom, chances are you will get some vignette.
