Canson Infinity Infinity Prestige II Overview

The 25-sheet pack of 13 x 19" Baryta Prestige II Glossy Paper from Canson Infinity features 340 gsm sheets with the aesthetic of traditional darkroom paper. This is achieved by adding a coating of barium sulphate prior to the inkjet receiving layer. The paper has a natural white base without any artificial brightening agents (OBAs).

The gloss finish enhances deep blacks and pure whites and intensifies the color gamut. The Baryta Prestige II paper offers exceptional image quality, detail, and tonal range to produce superb color and black and white images. Produced on a mixed alpha-cellulose and cotton base, the Baryta Prestige II paper has excellent handling characteristics and is FSC and ISO 9706 certified.

Great paper: good recommendation from B&H Store

I was in B&H last year and they didn't have my regular paper in stock (Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta) in the size I wanted . I was going to be printing B&W instead of color so I asked what would be good. The clerk recommended this and I looked through the handy Canson sample book, and agreed that it looked good. I printed a new set of images and found that I loved it. I've moved to this paper for all my printing. (Especially after I suffered some manufacturing issues with H's Rice Paper.) I generally have held to the notion that I should print B&W in the darkroom, but liked this paper so much, I've thrown in the towel on that. I would say that the sample books are super helpful because certain kinds of projects might require different papers. I'm not saying that this is the be all or end all, but for the work I was creating at that time, it was excellent.

I've been using this paper for several years now after having a problem with another well known paper manufacturer. I'm a loyal customer at this point. I use several different Baryta papers from Canson and the color reproduction is great as are the different finishes and overall quality.
