Sunwayfoto PNL-Z9 Overview

The Sunwayfoto dedicated L-Bracket for the Nikon Z9 camera features an Arca-type dovetail on the bottom for compatibility with Arca ball heads and other supports. There are also 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tripod threads on the bottom, and two 1/4"-20 threads on the sides for accessories.

The bracket provides access to the camera connections and the battery slot and allows full tilting of the camera screen. Raised lips on the sides of the camera platform ensure that the camera doesn't twist, and silicone padding on the platform prevents scratches to the camera. A captive slot design on the bottom allows adjusting the position of the bracket so that cables with long plugs can be used when shooting vertically.

RECIEVED MY L-BRACKET AND WAS MOST PLEASED, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE. FITS THE CAMERA WELL. ALL MY OTHER BRACKETS ARE FROM REALLY RIGHT STUFF. THEIR BRACKET SELLS FOR $270 AS COMPAIRED TO SUNWAYFOTO FOR $69.95. For the life of me can't tell the difference.

The perfect accessory

I do mostly people photography and often get irritated repositioning my camera on the tripod for vertical shots. The sheer bulk of my Nikon Z9 makes this more of an issue, so after researching, I now own the Sunwayfoto L-Bracket and I LOVE IT. It fits the camera like a perfectly and the contoured base prevents twist that could occur with a flat base. The setscrew aligns perfectly with the opening on the bottom of the Z9, further eliminating possible misalignment. The contour of the device allows access to the battery compartment, buttons and camera openings, although I may need something to help opening the weather seal over the HDMI or other ports. I have only used it once, so I am anxious to see how it works when I shoot tomorrow. I expect the horizontal to vertical switch to be a snap. One other thing. I changed out the heads on my Manfrotto tripods to standardize all to the Arca-type connection which is integral to this bracket, but that's another review.
