Klipsch RP-6000F II Overview

Upgrade your home cinema with the powerful, Atmos-ready Reference Premiere RP-6000F II 2.5-Way Floorstanding Speaker from Klipsch in an appealing ebony finish. This second-generation speaker is capable of outputting a continuous of power through dual Cerametallic cone woofers and 1" titanium LTS vented tweeter with Tractrix horn. The larger horn and 70% larger voice coils in the woofers of the RP-6000F II fill your space with a large soundstage and more accurate directivity of sound. When used in a home theater setup, you can place optional Atmos surrounds on top, cleanly wiring them into the RP-6000F II via discrete and hidden connections on the back of the speaker.

90 x 90° Silicone Composite Hybrid Tractrix Horn
Klipsch's proprietary Tractrix geometry in the horn is specifically crafted to efficiently transfer the high frequencies of the tweeter to the listener. This second-generation Tractrix horn is larger for better directivity and a wider overall soundstage. The Tractrix horn can accomplish this level of audio fidelity and smooth frequency response by being combined with a phase plug and a compressed molded silicone face.
LTS Titanium Diaphragm Tweeter
Part of Klipsch's Reference line, the LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) works to minimize distortion for more detailed audio reproduction.
Vented Tweeter Design
The housing of the tweeter in this floorstanding speaker clarifies the high-frequency signal by reducing standing waves that would otherwise create unwanted harmonics.
Cerametallic Woofers
Another signature aspect of Klipsch's Reference Premiere speakers are the Cerametallic woofers. This floorstanding speaker is equipped with a dual 6.5" woofers, and the Cerametallic construction keeps them lightweight, yet rigid, to both maximize acoustic efficiency and minimize distortion. In the second generation, voice coils are 70% larger in diameter to ensure flawless reproduction with better power handling, cone control, and linearity. The addition of aluminum shorting rings adds to the improved power handling and lower distortion, while the motor structure itself improves the transit response and adds more control with increased speed and improved accuracy.
Tractrix Ports
If you prefer a deeper bass from your speakers, the integrated ports of the RP-6000F II utilize Klipsch's Tractrix geometry to produce clean and punchy low-end frequencies. The geometry allows the air to quickly and efficiently exit the speaker, which also reduces port noise. Customized inner flares further lowers noise by reducing air turbulence entering the port.
Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping
Dual input terminals on the back of the speaker allows you to bi-wire and bi-amp with additional (optional) cabling. Bi-wiring allows you to separate the high and low frequencies to each cable. By separating them, interference and distortion are minimized, delivering a clearer sound that has more accuracy in your listening environment. The bi-amping can generate more power for your speakers by using outboard crossovers with (optional) separate amplifiers.
Advanced Cabinet Design
Klipsch incorporates additional bracing and constructed a divided cabinet to help with acoustic quality. Together they minimize resonances and vibration to specifically improve transparency and clarity of the sound it produces.
Improved Input Panel
The RP-6000F II features audiophile-grade wiring and easily accessible aluminum binding posts for any connection type.
Premium Construction
Klipsch uses internally braced, furniture-grade MDF for a durable and attractive appearance. The ebony vinyl finish includes satin-painted baffles that have a scratch-resistant coating.
Cast Aluminum Feet
In addition to its sleek and modern appearance, the cast aluminum feet of the RP-6000F II provide less resonance than using wood or plastic. These feet have been designed to minimize the surface area that's in contact with the floor, providing you with the extra benefit of faster and tighter low frequencies and more audio detail.
Magnetic Grille
You have the option of exposing the copper-colored woofers and tweeter or covering them up with a discrete speaker grille. The grille magnetically attaches to the front of the RP-6000F II.

Klipsch RP-6000F II Reviews

Fantastic speakers

Paired these with a Yamaha A-S701 amplifier and an SVS SB-2000 Pro subwoofer in a fairly large (6500 cu ft) room. Mostly listen to jazz and classical music. Spent yesterday with Ray Brown, Bill Evans, Miles Davis recordings - acoustic bass, tinkling piano, drum snaps, cymbals all crystal clear and effortless sound. Very pleased.

Great Sounding Speaker

Just upgraded from my Energy EXL-28 speakers purchased in 1999 which produced a great sound. But I must say these are a good choice. The sound is really clear and I would strongly recommend this speaker. Today I listened to Bob Seger on vinyl and it sounded like he and his band were playing right here in my living room. Also, the size of the speaker is perfect with my Yamaha receiver. I bought the Klipsch 404c 2 center speaker. Another great choice. B&H is a place I trust to buy electronics as they arrived in perfect condition. Enjoy!
