It extends Ethernet up to 3000' over optional UTP cables. I've used these for over length cat6 cable runs in a school parking lot. The camera had 4 sensors and night IR. It also required 30W PoE at the camera. You will likely need to get a larger PoE injector for long runs that require PoE. I used a 60W PoE injector to run a 30W PoE camera out at about 600 feet. Need 60W PoE at the device, use the 90W PoE injector. Additionally, you will need one of these units for EACH side.

The Vigitron Vi2300WP can extend 60 watts. If you have a long run, you need to start with a 90W PoE injector to account for power loss.
