Godox Ving V860III TTL Li-Ion Flash Kit for Nikon Cameras

Power, speed, and integrated radio transmission make the Ving V860III TTL Li-Ion Flash Kit from Godox a hard-to-beat option for your Nikon cameras. Fully compatible with TTL systems, the Ving V860III supports many advanced functions and features. Also, it features the Godox X wireless radio system, which provides both master and slave TTL functionality at a distance. On top of this, the flash is powerful and versatile, featuring a guide number of 197' at ISO 100 and 200mm along with a zoom range of 20-200mm. And this flash runs off a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack that ensures fast recharge with a capacity of up to 480 full-power flashes.

For general operation, the Ving V860III features full bounce flash capabilities, including tilting and rotation left and right. As a TTL-compatible unit, this flash offers support for high-speed sync, flash exposure compensation, 1st and 2nd curtain sync, and much more. Additionally, it can function as an optical master or slave unit if needed.

Godox XProN TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Nikon Cameras

Using the 2.4 GHz Godox X wireless radio system, the XProN TTL Wireless Flash Trigger can be used to effectively and reliably trigger flashes from up to 328' away, and when used with compatible flashes and receivers users will have the added benefit of remote power control. This model is compatible with Nikon's i-TTL system, including support for high-speed sync up to 1/8000 second, and offers advanced control options along with settings for working with system-specific features. For ensuring maximum reliability and control, users can set up 16 groups on one of 32 channels and can then access 99 wireless ID settings for limiting interference from other nearby systems.

In addition to basic manual and TTL control modes, other settings are available, including stroboscopic flash and second-curtain sync. Users can adjust flash exposure compensation from -3 to +3 EV as well as wirelessly control the modeling light, zoom setting, and more. For using the XProN with other camera systems there is a 2.5mm sync port that supports triggering via a wired connection. Also, a USB-C port is present for firmware updates and the devices run on two AA batteries for convenience.

Godox V860III Reviews

Great product. Delivered on time.

I use a variety of Godox lights but I wanted a traditional speedlite to make use of the speedlite modifiers I had been using with another brand. Now all are on the same radio trigger system. The light works perfectly and compliments a small light travel kit that I can easily move around with me. Fast delivery.

Not compatible with Canon R8

I recently bought this flash and overall it works fine. However, it does not support High Speed Sync with my Canon EOS R8. When I go into the camera’s External Flash settings, it shows “incompatible flash,” and I can’t access any of the flash controls from the camera menu. I can enable High Speed Sync directly on the flash itself, and I see the H⚡ symbol appear, which suggests that HSS is active. But when I increase the shutter speed above 1/250s, I get a half-black image, which clearly means High Speed Sync isn’t actually working. I’ve tried everything I could think of and watched multiple YouTube videos, but I haven’t found any solution. If you’re using a Canon EOS R8 and need reliable High Speed Sync, this flash may not be the right choice.

The red AF assist beam emitted from the Godox Ving V860III TTL Li-Ion Flash Kit for Nikon Cameras will not function when the flash is used on the Nikon Z6 II Mirrorless Camera. However, the camera's blue AF assist beam will work.

Does this use the same battery as the V860II?
Asked by: Jeffrey
The V860III takes the same battery as (and is interchangeable with) the V1, the VB26A. It does not share/take batteries from the V860II or the AD100. See Godox's website for further clarification if necessary.

Can you charge the battery by plugging USB-C power directly into the USB-C port rather than the just the external charger? Manual only mentions the port is for firmware updates. Hoping I won't need to take the charger everywhere and can charge the battery directly in the flash.
Asked by: Kirk
Just tested a unit. You can only charge the battery by pulling it out and using the external charger. The USB-C port on the flash itself isn't very useful. Kind of a waste for it to be there for only firmware updates. Oh well.
