Is it still the case that Sony has not updated its A7R V firmware to make it possible to feed timecode in using this cable?

Currently only the SONY FX30, and FX3 are supported when using the Sony VMC-BNCM1 Timecode Adapter Cable. If you need to work with timecode on the Sony A7RV please consider solutions that would sync using your cameras audio input like Tentacle Sync. Since the Sony VMC-BNCM1 Timecode Adapter Cable paired with the Sony FX30 Digital Cinema Camera does not send timecode out through the adapter, but only timecode in, you will need an external clock to sync two Sony FX30 Digital Cinema Cameras using the Sony VMC-BNCM1 Timecode Adapter Cable.
