Does anyone know if this the adapter needed to jam timecode with firmware 3.0 on the A7SIII?
Asked by: Michael
I can confirm that both the Deity and Tentacle micro usb to TRS adapter works on the A7SIII and the A1. Both the Deity and Tentacle sync work as a time source. Set the settings to free run and preset. I'm still playing with it but it seems only XAVC HS 4K works with TC.

Is it still the case that Sony has not updated its A7R V firmware to make it possible to feed timecode in using this cable?
Asked by: Thomas
Currently only the SONY FX30, and FX3 are supported when using the Sony VMC-BNCM1 Timecode Adapter Cable. If you need to work with timecode on the Sony A7RV please consider solutions that would sync using your cameras audio input like Tentacle Sync. Would this cable work directly with the Atomos Ultrasync One? Or would an additional adapter be needed?
Asked by: Mark
The Sony VMC-BNCM1 Timecode Adapter Cable would work directly with the Atomos UltraSync ONE's included Mini-DIN to BNC Cable to establish a timecode connection with the UltraSync.

How can I connect two FX30 cameras together so that both of their timecodes are linked?
Asked by: NICHOLAS
Since the Sony VMC-BNCM1 Timecode Adapter Cable paired with the Sony FX30 Digital Cinema Camera does not send timecode out through the adapter, but only timecode in, you will need an external clock to sync two Sony FX30 Digital Cinema Cameras using the Sony VMC-BNCM1 Timecode Adapter Cable. Consider the Deity Microphones TC-1 Wireless Timecode Generator Box (Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz) with the Tentacle Sync Tentacle to BNC Cable (Right-Angle, 16"). Anyone found a sleek and slim way to mount this securely to a cage, 1/4 20 screw in mount preferably?
Asked by: Thomas
Unfortunately, a dedicated compact mount has not been made for the Sony VMC-BNCM1 Timecode Adapter Cable with use on a cage. A possible consideration, if interested, is to use a zip tie holder with a 1/4"-20 opening to wrap around the timecode adapter.
