I was looking for an additional leveling base for a new tripod and found the XILETU LDY-60 in B&H and decided to try it out. Today I received it and right away I was very impressed with the precision of the build quality. Primarily, I've used iFootage on another tripod but was seeking an alternative to use on a lighter and smaller tripod. The 2.4" diameter of the leveling base may easily accommodate larger camera mounts for both stills and video and Being a landscape photographer and hiking extensively through the Appalachian Mountains, I mostly travel light using a SmallRig Video Head for Horizontal or Vertical Shooting with a 45mm base (much smaller diameter) and it secures solidly to the XILETU base with the stabilizing screws. The mount secures solidly to the tripod and I'm finding the stability of the SmallRig Head performance has significantly improved. The leveling action is quick and definitive. I would recommend picking up a CAMVATE 1/4"-20 Female to 3/8"-16 Male Screw Adapter for Tripods here, just in case you may need it to accommodate your camera mount. No doubt, I rate this piece a 5 out of 5 and shall pick up a few more for my spare tripods. Completely professional.
