Xcellon PDG-5200L Overview

This compact next-generation charger uses GaN (Gallium Nitride) instead of silicon, which keeps the charger cool while it provides up to 200W of power across five ports. Your devices will charge in a fraction of the time your old silicon charger could do the job. The three USB-C ports individually provide up to 100W, while each of the two USB-A ports supply up to 22.5W. That's more than enough to handle MacBooks, power banks, cameras, tablets, phones, and much more. The built-in LED display lets you quickly keep tabs on each port's status. 200W Charger
The PDG-5200L offers a maximum output of 200W, so you can charge several power-hungry laptops, like the 16" MacBook Pro, at once and from the same outlet. People who need to charge phones, laptops, tablets, and batteries at a job site will benefit from the simultaneous 100W output from any two of the three USB-C ports. The two USB-A ports are ideal for simultaneously charging smaller USB devices like phones and wireless headsets.
Power Distribution
The power that is distributed from the PDG-5200L to your devices can vary in a variety of ways based on the amount and type of ports you use at a given time. Below is a list of output values and their corresponding port combinations:

  • USB-C (Any Single Port): 100W
  • USB-A (Any Single Port): 22.5W
  • USB-C (Any 2 Ports): 100W + 100W
  • USB-C (All 3 Ports): 100W + 65W + 30W
  • USB-A (Both Ports): 12W + 12W

LED Display
Unlike many USB chargers, the Xcellon PDG-5200L lets you see the charging process of your devices. Each port is represented in its own color, displaying its charging status and the amount of current the connected device draws. The displayed information is a valuable tool for assessing your cables' and devices' charging capabilities and immediately detecting defective or malfunctioning equipment.
Fast Charging
Even with large batteries, you don't have to wait overnight to recharge them with the Xcellon PDG-5200L. This charger supports PD 3.0, PPS (Programmable Power Supply), QC4+, and Samsung Super Fast Charging technologies to deliver the fastest charging protocols available and rapidly power up your compatible devices.

Great initially but two USB-C ports died already

Love the features of the charger. I don't know of other chargers that show voltage and amperages instead of just wattage output of each port. However, 1 USB-C port died after just 1 year. 6 month later, and another USB-C port died. So I am down to just 1 USB-C port. Very unfortunate.

This charger was a splurge for me, but after using it for a few weeks I feel it's entirely worth it. My first impression was that this unit is chunky, well built, and surprisingly heavy. However, considering it replaced two 65w laptop chargers and three wall warts, it's actually much lighter and more compact than the alternative! The unit is quite powerful. None of my devices require 65-70 watts, so it easily handles all my devices at once. I have no doubt it could handle two devices at 100w also. At first, I figured the little screen was a gimmick (though a cool one), but it is surprisingly useful to be able to gauge whether a cable/device is actually charging. The GaN tech does stay cooler than the old silicon chargers, too. Currently I'm using my Xcellon as a desktop charging hub. It's also a good travel charger if you need to charge a bunch of devices at once. I got it for a trip, and I was carrying a laptop, two phones, small power bank, and some miscellaneous USB-powered devices (flashlights, 18650 battery charger, etc). It definitely cut down on the stuff I had to pack. However, you'll need to set aside a pocket in your bag for it. It's too nice to stuff throw in any corner of your bag, like you might with an old laptop charger. This is, without a doubt, the coolest charger I own (in both senses of the word).

Does the label state 'INPUT: 100-240V, 50/60 Hz' or do I need a step-down converter for use outside of USA?

The Xcellon PDG-5200L 5-Port 200W GaN USB Charger with LED Display, B&H # XCPDG5200L, is dual voltage. At most you would only need a plug adapter.

Must the PDG-5200L remain connected to AC power in order to deliver power to connected devices? Can it serve as a battery pack?

With the Xcellon PDG-5200L 5-Port 200W GaN USB Charger with LED Display, B&H # XCPDG5200L, being only a USB wall charger (not a power bank), it would need to be plugged in at all times for power.
