Samsung Odyssey Ark Overview

Become fully immersed in your entertainment experiences with the Samsung Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen 55" 4K HDR 165 Hz Curved Gaming Monitor. This large-screen 3840 x 2160 resolution 4K monitor encompasses your field of view with a 1000R curved design and 178° viewing angles while you watch movies and explore fantastical game worlds. At the same time, the 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms GtG response time delivers smooth graphics by practically eliminating motion blur from fast action scenes while AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology reduces screen tearing and stuttering with compatible graphics cards.
Versatile Viewing
Multi View support boosts your multitasking by providing you with a multi-monitor experience on a single 55" screen. The Odyssey Ark can divide a single input into four screens that may be viewed simultaneously at 120 Hz, each of which may be dedicated to a specific workspace or application. Certain game related features may be disabled while in Multi View mode.

Rotate the display 90 degrees, then adjust its height, tilt, and pivot before leaning back in your chair to play games in cockpit mode. Up to three windows may be stacked vertically for easy viewing. The screen's razor thin bezels make the Odyssey Ark ideal for multi-monitor configurations for a massive viewing experience.

Flex Move Screen support allows you to adjust the view to fit your needs and preferences. For instance, you can change the viewable screen size to 27" and position it anywhere on the display. You can also switch the aspect ratio from 16:9 to 21:9 or 32:9 for ultrawide screen viewing.

Exceptional Color
Featuring Quantum Matrix technology with Quantum Mini-LEDs, the Odyssey Ark is designed to provide lifelike color accuracy that covers 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut. Additionally, 1056 dimming zones, a 1 million:1 contrast ratio, and HDR10+ support produce bright highlights and deep shadows.
Inside the monitor is an AI-powered Neural Quantum Processor that combines a 20-layer neural network to analyze each image to restore every detail, pixel by pixel. The display also includes automatic brightness adjustment, contrast amplification, and other enhancements that optimize the screen for whatever you're watching.
Inside the Sound Dome
You immersion is further enhanced by four corner speakers and two central woofers that produce 60W 2.2.2 channel audio. AI sound booster and Dolby Atmos virtual surround sound technology help to make you feel like you're in the middle of the action. Ambient Eclipse Lighting boosts the mood of your environment.
Total Control
Use the included Ark Dial to quickly change the Flex View, Multi View, and other screen settings. With fast access to your settings, this solar-powered controller lets you fully configure your viewing preferences as you switch between playing games, watching videos, and browsing websites.

The integrated Game Bar interface allows you to review the monitor's settings and performance at a glance, including the frames-per-second, high-dynamic range, and variable refresh rate. You can optimize the screen's response time, aspect ratio, picture mode in addition to other settings through the Game Bar without having to leave your game session.

A remote control is also included, allowing you to adjust the volume and use built-in apps such as YouTube, Netflix, and more from a distance.

Samsung Odyssey Ark Reviews

i guess its fine for streaming movies

Can absolutely not be used for gaming, its horrible in almost every way. Software1: the split view and multiview they talk to much about is flawed and locked to silly settings. Software2: it will often interrupt everything you're doing to tell you that a software update is available, or that you have been inactive for too long (even though you are gaming) you then have to find the remote and press multiple buttons before you can continue with your game. Software3: if i leave and it goes to sleep mode, it wakes up with a useless resolution and i have to do 12 presses on the remote to get my desired resolution back (go into settings, disable and enable gaming mode, leave settings, wait, now you can contiue) they messed up so badly, this is a decent smart tv, not a pc monitor.

Wonderful for a Work Screen

I have had this monitor for over a year. After reading reviews I was worried that there might be pixel issues, sound issue or a variety of other issues which tend to plague large screens. After a year I am impressed. I have had no problems and am able to subdivide the screen into 4 separate screens each roughly equivalent of a single 27" monitor. Working in IT screen real-estate is a real thing and having such a large monitor allows each task to get its own window for monitoring or daily production work. While I do not use this for gaming picture quality for video and the refresh rate works just fine for me. While it can be better for those in the gaming world, i find it fits very well for a daily work monitor beating the 49" ultrawide, in my opinion. One item that is rough is the weight of the monitor stand. Instead I wall mounted it using a large TV wall mount with an arm. While it cannot extend all the way out from the wall keeping it close allows me to manipulate it and gives a nice tilt perfect for my setup.
