Tilta TGA-ARG-SSC Reviews
Fits with Battery Plate
I was initially hesitant to purchase this case after reading several reviews claiming it wouldn’t close properly without removing the Tilta battery plate. That was not my experience at all. I carefully packed my Tilta Advanced Ring Grip exactly as shown in the product images. While the fit is snug, the case closes securely with the battery plate attached. Some reviewers also mentioned it isn’t sturdy enough to check as airline luggage. Frankly, I wouldn’t check a carbon fiber ring grip in any soft shell case. This product is designed for transport convenience, not baggage handling abuse. For air travel, I plan to place the case inside a Pelican for protection. For the price, I’m pleased to have a dedicated solution that keeps all components together in one place. It serves its purpose well and I’m satisfied with the purchase.
Could be better
Needed a bag for my RS2 Pro + Advanced ring grip with accessories to carry. For starters the bag feels flimsy, not as sturdy as the rs2 bag. I would not trust checking this bag on an airplane. As someone said before, the slots for holding the components are tight but I don’t mind that as they are secure. I would keep it if not for one glaring issue: The v-mount battery plate accessory for the ring is a pain to take off (takes about 5 minutes to unscrew the mini-long hex screws). I keep it on the gimbal ring at all times because it doesn’t need to come off for any reason. The bag with all its space doesn’t accommodate the battery plate while attached to the gimbal. For me, its a fatal design flaw, taking the battery plate on and off every time is a drag and makes this bag inconvenient to say the least. I’ll be returning the bag and getting a hard case or monitor case that can accommodate the rig fully built.
