IOGEAR GWLRSSKIT4 Overview

At home or at the office, you can conveniently display content and control devices remotely with the Long-Range Wireless 4K Video Kit from IOGEAR. With a transmitter and a receiver in the box, you can transmit HDMI-based audio and video to a display up to 600' away, in up to 4K/30p resolution, without sacrificing image and sound quality. More than simple screen mirroring, this system also allows for remote control over source devices and computers, and can be greatly expanded with additional transmitters and receivers to fit your unique requirements.

Usage
At home, you can transmit your cable, satellite or streaming box, or a Blu-ray player, from inside the house to an outdoor display on the backyard patio. You can also use the kit completely indoors, conveniently transmitting content from a media cabinet to your living room or home theater TV. With the included IR cables, you can also control the IR-based source devices as if they were in the room with you.

At work or in your business, you can take presentations and advertising content from your office PC and transmit it to digital signage or a conference room display. Whether you need to control a presentation deck or change up the content on your monitor, you can do so easily with your keyboard and mouse. Simply connect them to the receiver's USB Type-A ports, and then connect the included USB Type-A cable from the transmitter to the PC.

Expandability
With the purchase of additional receivers and transmitters, you can take advantage of switch and splitter modes to greatly expand the system.

Switch Mode: You can use one receiver to switch between the incoming audio/video signals from up to 10 transmitters.

Splitter Mode: Use one transmitter to send content to up to four different receivers. Splitter mode is ideal for sending the same information around an event or retail space so all customers/guests can see it. Please note the maximum distance is reduced by half with each additional receiver. So, with four receivers, the transmitter's range is reduced to up to 75'.

IOGEAR GWLRSSKIT4 Reviews

Mixed Results, Know the Limits

I had higher expectations for this kit based on other reviews, but my experience was mixed. I purchased the kit along with an additional transmitter, and unfortunately the extra transmitter was non-functional. The packaging raised some concerns as well—the serial numbers didn’t match the main kit, the unit was a different color, and the box had double clear seal stickers, which made it feel like a previously returned item. Buyers should be aware of this possibility when ordering extra transmitters. The main kit itself (one transmitter + one receiver) does work, but with limitations. I initially used it to control a PC about 15 feet away, using a laptop with keyboard and mouse via the KVM function. The video connection was acceptable, but the KVM connection dropped multiple times, requiring me to power-cycle the receiver to regain control. There is also noticeable latency, which makes it unsuitable for gaming—casual use is possible, but fast or timing-sensitive games are not ideal. I also tested it with a Mac Studio downstairs, roughly 25–30 feet away with a wooden floor in between. The wireless signal itself was decent, but I ran into a serious issue: the Mac began experiencing severe memory problems and screen freezes. The issue only resolved after disconnecting both the HDMI and KVM from the receiver. That was concerning and ultimately limited how I could use the system. That said, I did keep the kit because it still has some practical uses. For example, I can connect the transmitter to my laptop and use the receiver with my 85” TV as a wireless secondary display, which works well for that purpose. Bottom line: This product is not as “set-and-forget” or magical as some reviews suggest. It can work, but only if you understand and accept its limitations—especially with KVM stability, latency, and compatibility quirks. I strongly recommend testing everything you plan to do with it immediately after purchase, so you’re within the return window if it doesn’t meet your needs.

It does mirror/extend your screen in 4K. It also extends your mouse and keyboard. The remote display at the receiver is blurry. IO Gear tech support has been very responsive but no resolution yet.

The IOGEAR Long-Range Wireless 4K Video Kit (B&H # IOGWLRSSKIT4) will transmit all of the data that it is provided with. If you connect the receiver to an HDMI video/audio input on a device with a display, the display may show a blank signal if only audio is being transmitted.
