This is an excellent lens cap that fits over the Armour magnetic filter holder. It attaches magnetically and holds well. It is rubberized which makes it easy to grab and remove and it snaps into place well.

What is the purpose of this rear "lens cap" and what does it attach to on the holder?

This will attach to the part that mounts to the lens normally. To keep the holder and filters dust and scratch free when not in use.
