It features a 1/4"-20 thread at the bottom which can attach to ball head configurations. The two mounting screws insert into the thread in order to expand its mounting capabilities to standard tripods. Three built-in bubble levels help ensure your camera's horizon line is consistent when making fine adjustments.

I guess it is “heavy” but that is not an issue for me… nicely built and lets me move equipment between various tripods easily. Usual prompt delivery from B&H

too long a screw

The screw (facing upwards) is too long for either a Nikon Zf or D600, so the screw (bolt actually) bottoms out before the plate is tight. It's tough, but possible to remove the screw. I will be adding washers... and that might effect the bottom half of the clamp, and it's ability to hold the top plate. (bolt is 7.13mm proud vs socket depth of 5.72mm).
