DJI Ronin 2 Professional Combo (2024)
Versatile Pro Gimbal
The versatile Ronin 2 Professional Combo (2024) gimbal from DJI is suitable for use either handheld or mounted in a variety of ways, including onto a drone, Steadicam, vehicle mount, and more. An update from the original Ronin, this motorized stabilization system is suitable for a range of camera and lens configurations, boasting a payload capacity of 30 pounds. This means it can be used for everything from DSLRs up to cinema cameras such as the ARRI ALEXA Mini or Sony FS7.
Multiple Modes
Like its predecessor, the Ronin 2 features support for underslung, upright, and briefcase operation modes to help you achieve the best angle. However, it has been redesigned to enable easy transition between upright and underslung modes without changing the position of the camera. It also offers several other improvements, such as enhancements to the control software and physical design to simplify taking complex shots without sacrificing performance, all while making important functions more readily accessible.
Performance
Upgraded high-torque motors allow the gimbal to support a wider range of cameras, resist high winds and G-forces caused when mounted onto a car, and keep it moving smoothly in flight.
Boosted Torque
With up to eight times more powerful motors than previous iterations, Ronin 2 can withstand sustained speeds of over 75 mph with camera builds as heavy as 30 pounds. Thanks to encoded motors and enhanced precision, the Ronin maintains the same 0.02° of accuracy as its predecessors.
Versatility
Detachable Grip
A detachable grip allows the Ronin 2 to stand up on its own and is easily separated when the lower part of the handgrip is not needed. In addition to handheld work, the Ronin 2 supports mounting on cable cams, drones, Steadicams, vehicle mounts, and more.
Simplified Operation
Easier Setup
Making fine adjustments, which is essential for proper camera balancing, is now simplified with integrated adjustment knobs and a redesigned camera mounting base.
Integrated Screen
A dedicated high-brightness touchscreen for settings and adjustments has been integrated into Ronin 2, streamlining and accelerating gimbal setup. Tactile buttons, including motor pause, are placed easily within reach.
Assistant App
The extensively refined, redesigned, and expanded Gimbal Assistant app helps create content with minimum effort via new features such as CamAnchor, Time-Lapse, and Panorama, providing a more intuitive and easier-to-use full control system for Ronin 2.
Intelligent
Enhanced intelligence means filmmakers can get shots with Ronin 2 that would once have needed specialist expertise or additional equipment, from total smoothness control to studio-oriented smart features. Intelligent features include Panorama, Time-Lapse, and CamAnchor modes.
Powering
Hot-Swap Batteries
Two batteries on Ronin 2, and the ability to run with only one, allows for batteries to be charged and swapped without interrupting a shoot.
Accessory Support
The Ronin power hub enables essential accessories, such as the DJI Focus and wireless video transmission systems, to be powered by the Ronin 2 battery.
Design
Integrated GPS
The built-in GPS provides Ronin 2 with essential information for gimbal acceleration and speed, which is crucial for maintaining the camera's position and the horizon level when moving at high speeds while mounted onto a vehicle or drone.
Robust Batteries
Robust and resilient in extreme weather conditions, Ronin 2's self-heating batteries ensure stable power output for high-performance in temperatures as low as -4°F and high-heat environments. Dual batteries capable of operating simultaneously and independently provide complete redundancy, keeping the shoot going.
Compatible Cameras
The Ronin 2 supports a range of cameras from DSLRs to cinema cameras, even with high-grade lenses and other accessories mounted. The maximum horizontal length between the camera mounting base center and the roll axis should not exceed 9.64", the width of the camera should not exceed 7.1", and the height should not exceed 6.5".

Ready Rig GS Stabilizer + ProArm Kit with Case

Use the Ready Rig GS Stabilizer + ProArm Kit to transfer the weight of a gimbal-mounted camera away from an operator's arms and shoulders. By redistributing the load to the user's hips and core, this rig enables you to extend your shooting time and lessens operator fatigue. It also reduces the bounce motion sometimes seen during handheld gimbal shots. The Ready Rig GS Stabilizer works with any gimbal in standard or underslung mode.

The Ready Rig ProArms increase the basic GS Stabilizer's load range from 30 to 40 pounds. They telescope from 23 to 37", producing an effective boom range of 55". For greater operating convenience, the ProArms also feature 1/4"-20 and 3/8-16" threads, enabling you to mount an onboard monitor to either arm.

The Ready Rig GS with ProArms features a load capacity range of 1 to 40 pounds, carbon fiber support arms, and an aluminum frame. Its slim, compact profile suits it for use in tight spaces and car interior shots. A soft, zippered carrying case is included with this kit.

CineMilled Ready Rig GS Spindle Mount for MōVI Pro Ring (Pair, 30mm Clamp)

This pair of 30mm aluminum GS Spindle Mount from CineMilled allows you to adjust the force needed to tilt your MōVI Pro Ring when used with the ReadyRig GS. By sliding the spindle mounts up the side bars of the MōVI Pro Ring, you get more bottom-heavy and require more effort to tilt it. DJI Ronin 2 Reviews

Malfunctions and Poor Customer Service

If mine worked, I'd probably like it, but I've experienced nothing but damaged parts, malfunctioning firmware and poor customer service. The first Ronin 2 that I was sent, in late-April 2026, had a damaged top bar. I was told to send it back (the whole enormous case) to DJI only to be sent a bill for a repair even though it was still under warranty and never used. DJI sent the entire case back to me and I had to send it out again to B&H Photo for a replacement. B&H sent me a new one, which I received mid-May 2026, but it had malfunctioning firmware and would not update. This second Ronin 2 was sent back out (the enormous case) to DJI again for a repair, where it currently is. The Ronin 2 Charging Hub also stopped working, and sent that out for a repair or replacement. It's still with DJI and I've not yet received an assessment on what the issue is. Also, two TB50 batteries that I purchased early May 2026 for Ronin 2 malfunctioned. They were never used and would not charge. DJI stated that the warranty expired in January of 2026, but I ordered them in May 2026! DJI would not repair or replace. DJI customer service has, for the most part, refused responsibility and not helped with repairs or replacements. BH has mostly been helpful, but I'm still without a functioning gimbal, and without replacements for the batteries and charging hub. To anyone considering this gimbal, I recommend not purchasing it.

Best Gimbal On The Market

Best gimbal on the market, I have this attached to the back of a camera car and have a waste experienced. Nothing but great stabilized footage right out of the gate. No post stabilization needed even with telephone lenses. It provides power to my Red cinema cameras and with the extended TB 55 batteries it will power the gimbal in all other gear, including the camera for four hours. You cannot beat this set up.
