Featuring a single bay for a SATA III 3.5" HDD, this enclosure utilizes the USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface for fast transfers. Connect to hosts via included USB-A to C and USB-C to C cables; daisy-chain compatible devices using a dedicated USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port. An internal power supply minimizes clutter; a dual-bearing fan and aluminum shroud enable efficient cooling. LED indicators on the front panel allow you monitor power and activity at a glance. USB 3.1 Gen 2
Doubling the speed of its predecessor, USB 3.1 Gen 2 features a maximum throughput of 10 Gb/s when used with compatible devices and is synonymous with USB 3.2 Gen 2.
USB-C Connectivity
Connecting to a host via USB-C, the Oyen Digital HDX Pro C features a USB-C hub port for daisy chaining or connecting additional USB devices. USB-A to C and USB-C to C cables are included.
Internal Fan and Power Supply

I've just built an Unraid server and ended up with extra external HDD's. This is a convenient way to utilize a single HDD of at least 16TB (maybe any size, but 16TB was the largest drive I've used successfully) - it is easy to install/remove the drive and it doesn't utilize any software of sorts, so once I remove it, it can still be recognized by any hardware that would recognize an external hdd. To me, it's a perfect option for repeated cold storage archive. I have no complaints.

No, the Oyen Digital HDX Pro C USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 Hard Drive Enclosure (No HDD) only supports being mounted to Windows, Mac, and Linux systems, it may not work with a Synology NAS.

The answer to the hard drive capacity question was 20TB, as of July 2023. Now, as of May 2025, can it handle a 22TB Hard Drive?

Can the second usb port be used to connect to computer if the main port fails?

The "MAIN" USB-C port on the Oyen Digital 16TB HDX Pro C USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 External Enterprise Hard Drive is designed for the host connection to a computer, and the "HUB" port is designed for daisy-chaining additional drives or other USB peripherals. The "HUB" port does not support the host connection to a computer.
