The Carbon Fiber Lens Foot Plate from Zenelli absorbs vibrations better than the lens' original aluminum foot and eliminates shake when capturing video or taking a photograph while mounted on a tripod. The foot is compatible with most Arca-type heads or clamps, but it also has three 1/4"-20 mounting sockets on the bottom in case there is no quick release system available. At the same time, safety stops located at each end of the foot prevent the mounted lens from sliding out if a quick release is partially opened, and clamped to the bottom of the foot's dovetails is a sliding bottom plate that prevents the lens from rolling over when the lens is placed on a flat surface or table. This particular lens foot plate is designed specifically for the Nikon NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S, the NIKKOR Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S, and the NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S.

Just buy it already!
If you've gotten this far on this listing, and you are looking to get a replacement foot for your Z super-telephoto (mine is on an 800mm f/6.3 PF) then just buy it. The price is... out there, but so was the price of the lens you're putting this on, and you already know what you're looking at anyway - and now you're looking at reviews to find some reason not to buy this? You won't find such a reason in this review. For the size of this foot it's incredibly lightweight. It's longer than the stock foot, but not too much more. It has never gotten in the way of using the lens. No flexing or bending, this thing is solid - and I typically carry the lens & camera (Z8) by the foot. The great thing about this foot is it's integrated arca-swiss capabilities, and it works flawlessly across the ball heads I've tried but more importantly my gimbal head. The reduction in weight by switching to this foot from the stock foot + arca-swiss plate combo hasn't meaningfully thrown off any balancing on the gimbal head, or the balance of handheld shooting for that matter. I haven't needed the extra length of this foot for tripod mounting at all, but it is a very nice to have for carrying the lens and camera around. The other great, underrated feature is simply the material of the foot. Of course carbon fiber is lightweight, but it also doesn't hold in cold like metal does. So, in the cold winter weather, carrying the lens by the foot, I don't feel like I'm freezing my hands and fingers off like I do when I hold the stock metal foot without gloves. Not applicable to all people I'm sure, but it's a great bonus feature if you live where it gets cold and don't care for gloves. Also comes with new screws and a tool. Expensive, sure, but I'd wholeheartedly recommend this.
A Worthy Upgrade
This is my second Zenelli lens foot replacement for a Nikon telephoto lens. It is a win on several fronts: it lightens your load, is nearly indestructible, and won't tip over when set on a flat surface. The crowning quality? It looks better than anything else for this purpose.
