FUJIFILM GF 20-35mm f/4 R WR Lens
Key Features
  • FUJIFILM G Mount
  • 16-28mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • Aperture Range: f/4 to f/22
  • Three Aspherical Elements
Designed for the FUJIFILM G-mount GFX camera system, the GF 20-35mm f/4 R WR Lens is a wide-angle zoom offering a 16-28mm equivalent focal length range. Covering ultra-wide to wide-angle perspectives, this zoom is particularly well-suited to landscape, travel, and architecture applications, and the constant f/4 maximum aperture maintains consistent performance throughout the zoom range. A sophisticated optical design pairs a trio of aspherical elements with one aspherical ED element and three ED elements to control both spherical and chromatic aberrations for improved sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy. Balancing the optical assets is an internal focusing mechanism that utilizes a linear AF motor to deliver quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance. A fluorine coating has also been added to the front element to repel moisture and the lens also features a dust-, freeze-, and weather-resistant construction for use in inclement conditions. Additionally, a manual aperture ring is featured for intuitive, tactile adjustment over exposure settings, and a Command position can also be set for camera-based control over the aperture.

If using a polarising filter on this lens, do I need one of the 'slim' versions so you don't see the edge of the filter?
Asked by: Ian
Yes, since the FUJIFILM GF 20-35mm f/4 R WR Lens is a very wide lens, using a slim filter is recommended.

The GFX format which takes the GF type lenses is slightly smaller than the 645 format. Can call it a 435?

This doesn't make sense - how is the 35mm equivalent of this lens 16-28mm? And APSC lens's equivalent goes UP, not down. If the APSC focal length is 20-35mm, then the 35mm equivalent would be 30-52.5mm. Their other new lens, the 56mm is correctly advertised as an 85mm equivalent.
Asked by: Ron
This GF20-35mm F4 lens is designed exclusively for the GFX Fuji line (medium format) cameras, not for the X (APSC) cameras. You are precisely correct for the APSC format, 1.5X, but for the GFX, it is approx. .8X, therefore smaller focal length equivalent. 20-35mm X .8 = 16-28mm in Full Frame equivalent.
