Tilta FF-T07 Overview

The Tiltaing Pocket Follow Focus from Tilta allows you to take full creative control of your image acquisition. Use the included 3.9" 15mm rod and single-rod clamp to mount the unit or mount the clamp on any standard 15mm rod. Smooth focus control is at your fingertips with hard stops that give you the freedom to pull focus between two specific distances with ease and precision. The locking system easily engages and disengages hard stop limits without the need to have these removed and lose their position.

The follow focus rotates 360°, and the fluid damping system on the focus wheel mimics the feel of the lens to help with accurate handling. The included 0.8 MOD gear is compatible with most cinema lenses, as well as the photo lens gear ring that comes in the box, which also includes a removable marking disk. A hard-shell safety case fits all the components, making it ideal for transport and storage.

Tilta FF-T07 Reviews

Works perfect, but it does sort of feel backwards on the spinning direction...

No complaints other than that, when mounted to camera left side of lens it feels opposite of the direction I wish I could spin it for focus. But I'm already pretty used to it, so nbd.

Best FF I've Ever Used

I believe this is Tilta's latest version of their follow focus unit and I like this way better than their previous model, the TIFFT06 and Smallrig's SM3010C. This unit is smooth, well designed, tight with no slop (over time with use I hope slop doesn't develop!) I appreciate its more streamlined design with their new click on/off hard stop tab at the top. Better than Smallrig's flip up hard stop tab. Tilta's previous FF version didn't have a flip up hard stop tab. It was permanently in place whereas if you kept the hard stop tightening knobs loose you could rotate the wheel 360 degrees, however, when you did that, the tightening knobs made slight jiggling noise. Also, the Smallrig hard stop tightening knobs could unscrew all the way out creating the possibility of losing the screw (which happened to me). This model is Tilta's best. Thinking of buying more.

I want to use it as a zoom control for Tamron 18-300mm VXD lens, but the zoom ring is a bit stiff. Would it be okay to use it?
Asked by: seunghee
This should still be compatible with your lens even if it is a bit stiff as long as you are using a strong focus gear ring!

The Tilta Tiltaing Pocket Follow Focus just supports the standard rotation of all follow focus solutions. It does not support reversing the rotation direction.

Fx3 with vintage Olympus 35mm 2.0 lens & Tilta half cage. Will this work with this setup?
Asked by: gary
The lens must have gears to work. Fortunately, Tilta includes a gear ring with the Tilta Tiltaing Pocket Follow Focus that you can attach to lenses without gear rings, like the Olympus 35 mm focus, to be controlled by the follow focus.
