The Plugable DisplayPort to HDMI Active Adapter allows you to easily connect the DisplayPort output on a laptop, desktop, tablet, or DisplayPort docking station to virtually any HDMI-enabled display. This active adapter uses an integrated chipset to convert the DisplayPort signal from the computer to a HDMI signal compatible with HDMI displays. This adapter supports 4K resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. It also supports 10-bits per color channel and High Dynamic Range (HDR10) for DisplayPort 1.4 graphics cards, and 8-bits per color channel and Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) for computers with DisplayPort 1.2 graphics cards.

The Plugable DisplayPort to HDMI Active Adapter allows you to easily connect the DisplayPort output on a laptop, desktop, tablet, or DisplayPort docking station to virtually any HDMI-enabled display. This active adapter uses an integrated chipset to convert the DisplayPort signal from the computer to a HDMI signal compatible with HDMI displays. This adapter supports 4K resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. It also supports 10-bits per color channel and High Dynamic Range (HDR10) for DisplayPort 1.4 graphics cards, and 8-bits per color channel and Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) for computers with DisplayPort 1.2 graphics cards.

Compatibility
  • Compatible with laptops, desktops, tablets, or DisplayPort docking stations that have a full-sized DisplayPort output port to add a HDMI-capable monitor, TV, or projector
  • To display a 4K resolution, both the host's graphics processor and attached display need to support 4K via DisplayPort version 1.2 or 1.4
Please note, this adapter is not bi-directional and will not convert video in the other direction. Furthermore, computers with DisplayPort 1.2 are not compatible with HDR; refresh rates may be limited to 30 Hz on 4K HDR televisions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The issue with this is it is very uncommon now. To find a DP port is nearly impossible unless you normally use it. The picture quality is definitely better but I don’t see how it’s any different than a HDMI - DP cable of a diffferent brand. If anything the short length of this cable is quite bothersome. I would prefer one of a longer length. It is very study and feels study thought so I give it that. But again it’s very uncommon to find a DP port now but when you do find one this is handy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This works so well with projectors and devices that don’t have the hdmi input. It’s easy to plug in. There was no damages or anything wrong with the cord. Stays connected as long as it’s plugged in.
