Compatibility
This adapter is compatible with Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 Macs, or laptops that have Dual-Mode Mini DisplayPort output ports (DP++) to add a HDMI-capable monitor, TV, or projector. In order to display at 4K resolution, the host's graphics adapter and attached display need to support 4K resolutions. Please note, this adapter is not bi-directional and will on convert a Mini DisplayPort output to HDMI; it will not convert video in the opposite direction. Furthermore, this adapter is not compatible with Microsoft Surface Docking Stations, AMD Eyefinity, or NVIDIA Surround.
