Evolis Primacy 2 Overview

Fast and feature-rich, the Primacy 2 Expert Dual-Sided ID Card Printer from Evolis will satisfy the requirements of institutions, organizations, and businesses looking to create a secure, personalized ID system. Using a direct-to-card dye sublimation/resin thermal transfer process with rewrite capability, the Primacy 2 can create vivid, detailed cards at resolutions starting at 300 x 300 dpi and going up to 300 x 1200 dpi. The Primacy 2 can produce up to 280 single-sided cards or 170 dual-sided cards per hour. It uses CR-80 cards and has 100-card input and output hoppers and a 50-card reject tray.

Built with USB and Ethernet connectivity, the Primacy 2 offers edge-to-edge printing and cardPresso XXS software for designing and editing badges. This model includes the Mag ISO Dual HiCo/LoCo 3-track magnetic stripe encoder and the Evolis Elyctis Smart Card Encoder.

Rewrite Technology
Save money and reduce waste with rewrite technology using compatible cards. Print, erase, and reprint the same card in a matter of seconds. It's especially useful for temporary cards and badges or those that are likely to be updated regularly, like visitor badges, student cards, loyalty cards, etc.
Medium and Large Print Runs
The ability to print up to 280 cards per hour, combined with a 100-card feeder, get your printing tasks accomplished quickly. Printed cards accumulate in the 100-card output feeder, while damaged or otherwise unusable cards end up in the 50-card reject bin in the back.
LCD Touchscreen Panel
The LCD screen displays important messages about the operation of your Primacy 2, notifying you with orange or red updates if there's a problem with printing, encoding, maintenance, etc. A green message means everything is good to go.
Security for Sensitive Info
Primacy 2 protects against abuse of sensitive information. Data is automatically deleted from the printer's its memory after the print job is concluded.

This printer is a constant headache. It will work fine one day then the next you'll spend 3 hours troubleshooting and eventually have to reinstall the software or drivers. If you need something reliable that is going to work day in and day out with minimal delays - this printer is not for you. And good luck trying to get a hold of support. They'll kick you right down the road to the distributor (not B&H) in your area.

Although the Evolis Primacy 2 Expert Single-Sided ID Card Printer comes with a USB cable, it DOES NOT come with an Ethernet cable.
