Enhance your home studio with the Q9x Dynamic Broadcast Microphone from Samson, a robust dynamic mic designed to deliver clean and clear sounding audio for podcasts, streams, voice-over and vocals, or even instruments. The microphone's solid aluminum construction and integrated yoke make it a reliable and easy-to-use asset for any home studio setup, with simple mounting onto most microphone stands and boom arms.
The Q9x sports a humbucking pickup coil with a neodymium magnet and a highly directional cardioid polar pattern, providing interference and noise-free audio with a wide, flat frequency response. The built-in mid-presence boost circuit delivers instant thickness for vocal frequencies, while the very high max SPL of 140 dB allows the mic to be effectively used for the recording of not only sung and spoken vocals but many instruments as well, from quiet acoustic guitars to snare drums and even blaring trumpets.
This microphone is part of the B&H Virtual Mic Locker, an online tool to help our valued customers determine the sonic differences between popular microphones for podcasting and voice over work. Each microphone was recorded using a Grace Design M103 preamp into a Presonus Quantum 2626 interface.
One Mic Does It All

Samson Q9X Reviews
Vast Improvement Over the Q9U

This microphone is miles ahead of the Q9U (its predecessor). The sound is pretty good. Many people who watch my YouTube channel (Free Podcast Tools) think that it sounds better than the Shure SM7B when I compared the two. The mic sounds smooth without any harshness. It's still susceptible to plosives if you don't exercise good mic technique, but what mic isn't?
