Harrison 1035 reviews

Silver Classic Classic Dark Cloth (54 x 58") is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great way to warm up on a very cold day First of all, this is a great product that does what it's supposed to do. It blocks the light so that you can have a better view of what's on your ground glass. I use this product with my 4x5 view camera both indoors and outdoors. However for me, the 54x58 size was too large, and I'm 6ft. tall. It gets very warm under the cloth very quickly and the large size is unwieldly. I exchanged the large size for the smaller size, which is almost a bit too small. Thus the 3 star rating. Maybe B&H will pass along this commentary to Harrison and suggest maybe a 48x48 size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The details are in the shadow I bought the Classic Dark Cloth to use with my new Solar Telescope. When the Hydrogen Alpha scope is using double stacked filters the use of a dark cloth lets the observer see detail that is usually lost in light glare due to being in bright sunlight when you are doing the observing. The silver outside layer helps reflect the heat from the observer and the velcro along the one side helps to lock in the darkness around the observer. It does get hot under the cloth for any extended period of time and a small fan may be utilized by the observer for extended viewing in the summer. I highly recommend this product to any amateur astronomer who does solar observing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid construction, good value This dark cloth is a good functional size for use with a 4x5 camera, and it makes a great rain cover in a sudden shower, but it's also fairly heavy and bulky for field use. I bought mine in about 2003, and the black inner fabric gave out in 2010, so it gave me seven years of use in sun, rain, and snow. There are many solutions to the dark-cloth problem, but I certainly recommend having one side waterproof to any photographer who plans to work in the field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best dark cloth so far Ive had few dark clots, some DIY, some purchased. I finally bought the one I always wanted. It makes the job so much easier. Its large enough but not too large. the velcro allows you to attach it around the camera, but is taken off easily, so it doesn't mess up my focus when you try to take it off, like my previous one. Its completely dark. It is also water proof and can protect the camera. It also worked great in the scorching heat, to keep my head cool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for 8x10, maybe larger. In some of the reviews, some people said this was good for their 4x5 camera. It works on a 4x5, but is about twice as much fabric as I could see anyone needing for that format. This is definitely for 8x10 or possibly larger. Great quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works...Best size for DSLR Length of the 54x58 is just right to cover your head down to below shoulder blades. I tried the smaller size and it hit the top of my neck..Too small. The silver helps to keep you cooler. Velcro goes around lens... It can change your focus ring if not careful. The silver top and black bottom are stitched on the outer edges but not in the middle...the black cloth hangs down a smudge. I will be adding stitching to bind both sides together. Any dark cloth can move around in a high wind...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps the Light Out I use this with an Arca Swiss tech in the field when the glare on the screen of the PhaseOne back is simply not acceptable. It's quite amazing what you can see with the screen when the lights go out and this hood does that...lights out. It's a tad bit warm on hot days but the trade off is worth it. This is the large size of course, but my guess is that I would not be happy with the smaller version; I believe it would, in my case, simply not be as covering as I would like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, but big! A perfect dark cloth, but I should have bought the small size for a 4x5 - I find there is too much fabric to handle.
