More than just a stereo version of the original, the Launcher Deluxe from Soyuz Microphones is a two-channel inline microphone preamp with a Launcher mode that provides 26 dB of gain for dynamic or ribbon microphones and a Saturate mode that imparts vintage analog tone to FET and tube condenser mics without boosting the gain.
Gain boosters are a quick and easy way to boost a low-level mic signal before it hits the preamp, giving you more robust signal strength without adding noise. However, unlike traditional clean boosters, the Launcher Deluxe is not designed to give you a clean gain boost. Instead, with four custom hand-wound transformers and proprietary circuitry, it boosts the signal level while imparting a vintage, analog sound, reminiscent of a classic console.
Use this booster with PAs, mixers, recording interfaces and similar equipment. If you're using dynamic microphones for your voice or instrument, use the Launcher mode for gain with vintage tone. If you're using a condenser mic and don't need the extra gain, use the Saturate mode to add analog character to an otherwise colorless signal chain. You'll find two XLR/TRS mic/line inputs at one end, and two 3-pin XLR outputs at the other. Phantom power is required for the Launcher mode, but no power is needed for the Saturate mode.
- Add 26 dB of gain and color to two separate ribbon and dynamic mic sources in Launcher mode
- For active microphones or line-level signals, bypass the boost and get a dose of vintage analog tone in Saturate mode
- Individually select Launcher or Saturate mode on each channel
- Two separate signal paths for passing both mic and line-level signals through the unit
- Each individual path features two custom hand-wound toroidal transformers (four in total)
- For stage and studio use with pedalboards, podcasting desks, recording consoles and more
- Small size easily fits in to a bag or case (available separately) for travel
