With any haze and fog machine there is a chance it will set off a smoke/fire alarm. It depends on air flow to the room you are using this it in, the size of the room and the detectors.

So I just received my new unit (after months of waiting for it to be back in stock). According to the booklet, this SmokeGenie is Version V1.2 + Smokegenie controller V2. Also the model number reads PMI_GE_PROFS. So, I do believe this is the "newer" version they were promoting on Youtube a few months ago.

How does this perform as a haze (not smoke or fog) machine?
The SmokeGENIE Handheld Fog and Haze Machine Professional Kit is very good as a haze machine. Note it small and can does about 500 Cubic Feet per Minute.
