The TASCAM CA-AK1-AN is a cold shoe adapter that allows you to use the CA-XLR2d adapter for XLR microphones with a wide range of DSLR and mirrorless cameras. This model is identical to the cold shoe adapter included with the CA-XLR2d-C mic adapter for Canon cameras, the CA-XLR2d-F mic adapter for FUJIFILM cameras, and the CA-XLR2d-AN for cameras with 3.5mm input jacks and is sold as a replacement if the original is lost or damaged.

It does what it says. It’s a simple and easy swap for an “active” mount adapter, and it gives some peace-of-mind that I won’t damage the pins of the active adapter. It includes two screws and a cover to put over the actual connecting port - so if you’ve lost any of those, you’re covered here. I’d be happier if it was closer to $30 since it’s just a simple cold mount, but I don’t really have another option. It does what it promises, it’s easy to implement, and it has all the pieces you need.
