Fujinon ZA17x7.6 Reviews
Nice lens but breathes when focusing
This lens is a sharp and fast lens that is very well suited for HD production. We use it with a Panasonic 2700 Varicam. The only complaint I have about its design is that it zooms in and out when the focus is changed. It is a very noticeable and extreme amount of breathing. We also own a Fujinon HA16x6.3BERM, and it does not breath. There is a big price difference between the two lenses, but the extra wide angle and the solid focusing make it the better choice for our production. Also keep in mind that the BERD versions of these lenses come with an additional focus servo. So if you want to use a professional digital zoom and focus controller setup, consider the BERD lenses over the BERM.
Crystal Clear images on our new PDW-700
The Sony rep told us that the ZA17x7.6 HD Lens would produce cleaner images than our XA series lens and he was right. It was well worth the extra $$ to buy this new lens for our XDHD cameras.
