Great Boom, Poor Wheel Base design

We were looking for a heavy duty boom with casters for studio work. The unit is solid, very heavy, and well built overall. However, we ran into two issues: one bolt arrived defective, and the wheels on the base don’t roll smoothly. Repositioning the boom takes noticeable effort, which makes movement across the floor less convenient than expected.

Like another reviewer, I had the bolt that connects the boom arm handle completely strip after only a couple uses. I disassembled that section and swapped in new hardware, but I really don't trust the rest of the stand (especially for overhead use) after seeing how poor the build quality was on that part. There's no way I would bring this safety hazard back out to a set.

How do you easily open & close the legs? Is there a trick I’m missing? I’m finding it very difficult to do without a 2nd person.
The Neewer Stainless Steel C-Stand with Casters and Boom Arm (10') can be a bit tricky but should not be too hard to open and close. Make sure the boom is straight up and not horizontal, which should help.

I don't understand the metal attachment bars just above the wheels. Why do they stick out so far? They're about to ding walls.
OP I think they're shipping this out with the wrong attachment for the casters, which would explain the issue. There's no way to attach the casters with the attachment feet I received, which seem much larger than the photos.
