I had the original version of this and it would rattle off my bike on rough terrain. The second version has a little push in thing that locks your goPro so it can't rattle out. Big improvement. Love being able to take the camera on and off the bike mount with one hand to get different shots while riding. It is a little more difficult than the original because you have to push in that button at the same time you twist but it's only slightly more difficult and so much more secure.

When holding something upside down, how much weight can it hold?

The Ulanzi Go-Quick II Basic Magnetic Mount Set is designed to support the weight of a Go Pro (5.4oz), we do not recommend mounting anything heavier to the mount.
