Fun lens! Great price!
Got this lens for street photography. Wanted a smaller lens as a lot of Nikkor lenses are really heavy & big. I know that manual control is a big turn off for most people, but part of the charm of this lens is manually changing f-stops, and focusing! And I am pretty sure that it makes the lens a lot cheaper too! I learned photography using Kodak film (an old NIkon that my father gave me), and learned filmmaking from 16mm cameras like a Bolex, and this lens felt like a return home for me. Lens construction is solid, and mostly metal: focus ring is smooth, offering the right resistance while f-stops solidly click into place. Even has a small metal hood that screws into place. At least for the Z9 the camera records shot information despite being all manual. I am very happy with the results for this lens, and love the pictures it takes. An overall solid lens at a good price!
Great street lens
Iâve used this lens on my full frame Nikon Z5 with great effect. I just set the camera to DX mode and off I go. Iâve used it in all types of light and had great results. I like the manual nature of it too - it helps to illustrate the relationship between aperture and focus distance.
